A large project was undertaken such that all pipe spools were prefabricated and tested off-site in our Selby fabrication facility and transported to site and installed as pre-tested modules requiring final Golden Welds. The project involved fabrication and installation of more than 100 tonnes of structural steelwork, 10,000 metres of pipework and expended more than 75,000 man hours.
The contract was undertaken and managed by us in accordance with requirements as stipulated under Module F of the Pressure Equipment Regulations (PER) with the notified third party body being Royal & Sun Alliance. Our in-house engineers and designers were responsible for Structural Detailing, Steelwork Fabrication & Installation, Design for Fabrication, Pipework Fabrication & Installation and Cryogenic Insulation.
The project also required numerous tie-ins to existing "LIVE" LNG pipework requiring us to undertake more than 50 off "Golden Welds". Specialist requirements undertaken by us included 100% X-Ray of 3,000 + welded joints, carrying out in excess of 150 high pressure pneumatic tests, On-site hydro-testing to 68 Barg + of 15 large volume systems and Line drying and shock-blowing
