This project was for the design, construction and supply of a portable venting skid for use at onshore Gas Terminals in Barrow. The skid package processes Sour Gas and all materials specified, fabricated and supplied were in accordance with the worst operational case (NACE MR0175/ISO 15156). The piping arrangement was designed to be mounted on a galvanized structural steel skid base to provide a stable support for the piping and was calculated to withstand loadings due to fluid flow during venting operation.
We included provision for the skid base to be levelled on a gravel/pebble stone grade and to permit the entire assembled skid to be safely transported around site by an all terrain fork lift truck.
Our Workscope also included supply of a comprehensive QA documentation package supported by our design calculations to demonstrate fitness for purpose, material traceability, weld/NDE maps inc procedures qualifications, NDE reports, hydro test certification etc.
Works was carried out in accordance with ANSI B31.3 and we also demonstrated strict compliance to the PED requirements.
Our in house design team made all necessary design checks to identify expected pipe stresses to ensure process dynamics including any potential shock loadings in operation, Joules Thompson chilling and any jet reaction were known.
Third party verification of the above system was undertaken by our approval Authority (Royal Sun Alliance).
