Cooling Water Package Units

In August 2009 we successfully completed the design, fabrication assembly and testing - 2 off Package Units that were the shipped to Guardian’s Glass factory in Tudela, Spain.

The Larger of the 2 skids was to provide closed loop cooling water at a flowrate of 310m3/hr with a 38.6 DegC inlet temperature and 34 DegC outlet utilising open loop system water at 31 DegC inlet and 36.5 DegC outlet at a flowrate of 260m3/hr. The skid was comprised of the following equipment:

• 1 off epoxy coated fabricated Carbon Steel Base
• 316/316L SS Plate Heat Exchanger (total duty 1642KW)
• 316/316L SS Centrifugal Circulation Pump for closed loop (310m3/hr @ 5 Bar differential head)
• Nominal 5m3 PE 100 HDPE Buffer Tank together with all necessary fittings.
• SS Filter cw solids removal
• Welding (with 10% NDT) of all inter connecting 316/316L SS seamless pipework and specification/supply of all required manual isolation valves.
• Pressure, Level and Temperature Instrumentation

The Smaller skid was to provide closed loop cooling water at a flowrate of 25m3/hr with a 41 DegC inlet temperature and 34 DegC outlet utilising open loop system water at 31 DegC inlet and 38 DegC outlet at a flowrate of 25m3/hr. The skid was comprised of the following equipment:

• 1 off epoxy coated fabricated Carbon Steel Base
• 316/316L SS Plate Heat Exchanger (total duty 201KW)
• Centrifugal Circulation Pump for closed loop (25m3/hr @ 5 Bar differential head)
• Nominal 2m3 PE 100 HDPE Buffer Tank together with all necessary fittings.
• CS Filter cw solids removal.
• Welding (with 10% NDT) of all inter connecting carbon steel pipework and specification/supply of all required manual isolation valves.
